TUESDAY 10 BALL – 9th JANUARY : DMITRY WINS.
This week’s 10 Ball Champion is Dmitry Cherkesov from Russia.
From another brilliant turnout of 39 players from 17 different countries, he beat Thailand’s Aom Nantaporn Chomthaisong in the final, 4-5 in racks (race 4-7) to collect the 1st Prize of 6000 baht.
He lost his very first match of the competition in the group stages, before raising his game to win six consecutive matches and lift the trophy.
His handicap now moves up to A+1 as a result.
Aom also played well to reach the final, and took home 3500 baht in 2nd Place.
Jurgen Wulf from Germany played some quality pool en-route to the semi-finals, along with Tukta Kulsuttichai from Thailand, and they each received 2000 baht.
Champion : Dmitry (A+) – 6000 baht.
Runner-Up : Aom (A+3) – 3500 baht.
Semi-finals : Wulf (A+11) and Tukta (A+2) – 2000 baht.
Quarter-finals : Brooksey (A+7), Bo Andersson (A+7), George Wright (A+5) and Harry Arefjell (A+4) – 1000 baht each.
The Player Auction Prize Pot totalled 39300 baht and was won by Peter Nielsen from Denmark.
He only paid 600 baht to get Dmitry on side, and pocketed the 1st Payout of 11500.
1st (30%) : Peter (Dmitry) – 11500 baht.
2nd (22%) : Gerhard Schebler (Aom) – 8600 baht.
Equal 3rd (12%) : Bill Leftwich (Wulf) and Mike Berezovsky (Tukta) – 4800 baht each.
Equal 5th (6%) : David Chalmers (Brooksey), Billy Hayes (Bo), Albert Gringhuis (George) and Janine Albrecht (Harry) – 2400 baht each.
