Tues 08-08 : Ali Wins

Yet another first time winner in last night’s 10 Ball Competition.

Ali Karim from Bahrain, playing at Megabreak for the first time in three years, and only the second time over all, defeated Nat Nantiyakorn Wongkaew from Thailand in the deciding rack of the final (race 10-3), to collect the 1st Prize of 4500 baht.

Nat, playing here for just the third time, got off to a great start in the final to take a 2-0 lead and put herself on the hill before Ali had even troubled the scorer.

Ali dug deep though, and amazingly won 10 consecutive racks to steal victory in a very tense deciding rack.

His handicap now moves up to A+8 as a result.

Consolation for Nat was taking home the Runners-Up Prize of 2500 baht.

Jarah al Failkawi from Kuwait, returning to Megabreak for the first time in four years, played well to reach the semi-finals, along with Jerome Pierron from France, and they each received 1000 baht.

Winner : Ali Karim (A+7) – 4500 baht.
Runner-Up : Nat (A+) – 2500 baht.
Semi-finals : Jarah (A+10) and Jerome (A+3) – 1000 baht each.

The Calcutta Auction created one of the biggest Prize Pools so far, totalling 12400 baht.
All three professional players were bought for more than 1000 baht, but they all failed to reach the money rounds.

Ali turned a good night into a great one, buying himself for just 300 baht, and putting an extra 5100 in his pocket as the winner.
Nat also bought herself for just 300 baht, and added 3700 to her winnings on the evening.

1st (40%) : Ali Karim (Himself) – 5100 baht.
2nd (30%) : Nat (Herself) – 3700 baht.
Equal 3rd (15%) : Andy Hall (Jarah) – 1800 baht.
Equal 3rd (15%) : Andy Hall (Jerome) – 1800 baht.
