THURSDAY 9 BALL GRAND FINAL : ROBERT WINS.
Congratulations go to Robert Schnabel (A+5) from Germany for winning the Thursday 9 Ball Grand Final for Season 11 on Saturday night.
From the maximum field of 16 players, he defeated Nid Nisa Alois (A) in the Double Elimination Competition Final to collect the 1st prize of 10000 baht.
Robert played excellent pool throughout the tournament and was a worthy winner. He won 4 consecutive matches on the Winners side of the draw to qualify for the Grand Final.
Nid had a much more difficult task to get there, after losing her very first match. She then won 6 consecutive matches on the 1 Loss side of the draw to earn her match with Robert.
In the final, Nid would have to beat Robert twice to claim the title, and she managed to take the first set, 3-6 in racks (race 3-9) to give herself a great chance.
After 6 racks of the second set, Nid was on the hill at 2-4 and looked the most likely winner.
Robert had other ideas though, and managed to reel of 5 successive racks to seal a 9-2 victory in the deciding rack.
His handicap now moves back up to A+6 as a result of his success.
Nid received 6000 baht as Runner-Up, and her handicap is also increased to A+.
