THURSDAY 9 BALL – 1st FEBRUARY : JAYSON WINS.

As a prelude to the High Roller starting the next day, we allowed all handicap levels to play last Thursday and what an amazing response we had.

The biggest field in recent years with an unbelievable 54 players from 20 different countries taking their chance.

Filipino Jayson de Chavez from Hua Hin was our winner, beating Markus Jo Nolberczak from Germany in a short race final after both players agreed to share the prize money for 1st and 2nd as daylight fast approached.

Jayson played superbly all night long to win 7 out of 8 matches, and won his last four matches of the tournament without even conceding one rack!!

Results of 10-0, 9-0, 7-0 and 3-0 in the final saw him pocket 8500 baht.

His handicap moved up to A+11 as a result.

Markus played well to reach the final and collected 4500 baht in 2nd Place.

Megabreak’s Barrie Sherman and Matthew Carroll from The USA were the other main money winners, taking home 2500 baht for reaching the semi-finals.

Champion : Jayson (A+10) – 8500 baht.
Runner-Up : Markus (A+) – 4500 baht.
Semi-finals : Barrie (A+7) and Matthew (A+4) – 2500 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Joni Savolainen (A+6), Ale (A+5), Hannu Torpström (A+2) and Nittha Punsuk (A+) – 1500 baht each.

The Player Auction expectedly broke the record for the Prize Pool with such a high number of entries.

The Total Pot was 57500 baht, and the 1st Payout was won by Englishman Jon Nash, who lives in Chiang Mai.

He paid 1500 baht to get Jayson onside, and bagged 15700.

1st (28%) : Jon Nash (Jayson) – 15700 baht.
2nd (22%) : Miikka Karila (Markus) – 12600 baht.
Equal 3rd (13%) : Miikka (Barrie) and Jp Van der Kam (Matthew) – 7400 baht each.
Equal 5th (6%) : Scott (Joni), Gerhard Schebler (Ale), Hannu (Himself), and Charlie Ayres (Nittha) – 3600 baht each.
