Sun 28-01 : Tom Wins

A smaller field than recent weeks for our 9 Ball Competition on Sunday which saw 23 players take their chance.

Scotland’s Tom Rooney was our winner, beating Renè Heiniger from Switzerland in the final by 5 racks to 3 (race to 5) to receive the 1st Prize of 5000 baht.

He had to use his “second chance” to qualify out of the group stages, but from there he raised his game to win four straight matches to become champion, and his handicap now moves up to A+8 for the very first time.

Rene played well to reach the final before falling just short against Tom, and took home 3000 baht in 2nd Place.

The other money winners on the night were Finland’s Hannu Torpström and Guy Pennington from England, who each collected 1000 baht as losing semi-finalists.

Guy’s handicap also moves up to A+2 as a result.

Champion : Tom (A+7) – 5000 baht.
Runner-Up : Rene (A+7) – 3000 baht.
Semi-finals : Hannu (A+2) and Guy (A+1) – 1000 baht each.

The Player Auction Prize Pool totalled 25600 baht and was dominated by Olly Downey.

He bought both Tom and Rene for a combined total of 2800 baht, and pocketed 17600 for 1st and 2nd!!

1st (40%) : Olly (Tom) – 10000 baht.
2nd (30%) : Olly (Rene) – 7600 baht.
Equal 3rd (15%) : David Chalmers (Hannu) and Scott (Guy) – 4000 baht each.
