Sun 25-02 : Charlie Wins


England’s Charlie Ayres won his first tournament at Megabreak for nearly 7 years in our Sunday 9 Ball Competition last night.

From a total entry of 22 players, he beat Finland’s Jape Lappetelainen in the final by 6 racks to 2 (race 6-4) to pocket the 1st Prize of 5000 baht.

He lost his very first match of the evening in the double chance group stages, before raising his game to win six matches on the spin and lift the trophy.

In the final he lost the first rack, before winning 4 consecutive racks to take a commanding lead.
Jape fought back to win the next and make it 4-2, before Charlie won the next two to seal a well deserved victory.

Jape played well to reach the final in his last tournament before returning to Finland, and collected 3000 baht in 2nd Place.

The other money winners on the evening were Kasper Krohns, also from Finland, and Canada’s Dennis Presiloski, who each took home 1000 baht for reaching the semi-finals.

Champion : Charlie (A+7) – 5000 baht.
Runner-Up : Jape (A+5) – 3000 baht.
Semi-finals : Kasper (A+5) and Dennis (A+3) – 1000 baht.

The Player Auction Prize Pot totaled 28800 baht, and was won by our champion.

He turned a good night into a great one by buying himself for 1500 baht, and adding an extra 11400 to his winnings.

1st (40%) : Charlie (Himself) – 11400 baht.
2nd (30%) : Mike B (Jape) – 8600 baht.
Equal 3rd (15%) : Miksa (Kasper) and Peter N (Dennis) – 4400 baht each.
