Sun 23-12 : Stig Wins


Norwegian Stig Berntsen won his first ever competition with us on Sunday, to lift our 9 Ball trophy.

Playing here for the 25th time, he played consistently well all night to finally get his head in front and pocket the 1st Prize of 6500 baht.

From a massive entry of 37 players from 16 different countries, he beat local Thai girl Nan Nannygirl Dajan in the final by 5 racks to 3 (race 5-5), and his handicap now moves up to A+4.

Nan also played well to reach the final, and collected 3500 baht as Runner-Up.

Denis Husson from France and Bryan Randy Seib from Canada both showed good form to reach the semi-finals, taking home 1500 baht each.

Champion : Stig (A+3) – 6500 baht.
Runner-Up : Nan (A+3) – 3500 baht each.
Semi-finals : Denis (A+3) and Bryan (A+3) – 1500 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Tom Rooney (A+8), Dietmar Ptak (A+3), Markus Nolberczak (A+1) and Albert Gringhuis (A+1) – 750 baht each.

The Player Auction produced one of the biggest Prize Pots for a while at 37700 baht, and was won by Gary Vinson.

He bought our champion for 1000 baht and they shared the 1st Payout of 10600.

1st : Gary (Stig) – 10600 baht.
2nd : Me (Nan) – 8000 baht.
Equal 3rd : Gerhard Schebler (Denis) and Denis Grabe (Bryan) – 4200 baht each.
Equal 5th : Markus (Tom), David Chalmers (Dietmar), Gerhard (Markus) and Albert (Himself) – 2200 baht each.
