SUNDAY 9 BALL – 17th FEBRUARY : JAMIE WINS.

England’s Jamie Brooks won his first tournament at Megabreak since August 2017 last night to lift our 9 Ball trophy.

From a superb entry of 34 players, he played consistently well all night long to claim the 1st Prize of 6000 baht.

He did lose his second match of the evening in the group stages, but from then on only one of his next five opponents reached the hill as he showed some impressive play.

In the final he beat one of the local Thai girls, Aom Nantaporn Chomthaisong by 9 racks to 2 (race 9-4) to seal victory.

Aom also played well to reach the final, before finding Jamie too strong, and took home 3000 baht as Runner-Up.

Her handicap now moves up to A+5 as a result.

Fellow Thai girl Wi reached her second consecutive semi-final along with Dima Samilov from Russia, and they each pocketed 1500 baht.

Champion : Jamie (A+9) – 6000 baht.
Runner-Up : Aom (A+4) – 3000 baht.
Semi-finals : Dima (A+4) and Wi (A+2) – 1500 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Barrie Sherman (A+9), Oran Olbird Ornkt (A+6), Hakki Hasanen (A+5) and John King (A+3) – 750 baht each.

The Player Auction Pot totalled 43500 baht and was won by Tor-Arne Fenes.

He paid 1300 baht for our winner, and they shared the 1st Payout of 12k.

1st : Tor (Jamie) – 12000 baht.
2nd : Nik V (Aom) – 9000 baht.
Equal 3rd : Peter Nielsen (Dima) and Nan (Wi) – 5000 baht each.
Equal 5th : Hakki (Barrie), Tor (Oran), Antti (Hakki) and Johnny (John K) – 2600 baht each.
