Sun 14-01 : Albert Wins


Our Sunday 9 Ball Competition this week was won by Megabreak’s ever present Albert Gringhuis from The Netherlands.

He is back in the “Winners Enclosure” for the first time since June last year, beating Jurgen Wulf from Germany in a short-race final to pocket the 1st Prize of 6000 baht.

He lost his very first match of the tournament in the “double chance” group stages, before winning six straight matches to lift the trophy.

Wulf again showed a high level of play to reach the final and took home 3500 baht as Runner-Up.

Thursday’s champion Abdulah Ahmad from Qatar and Pensri Teal from Thailand both reached the semi-finals, collecting 2000 baht each.

Abdulah’s handicap now moves back up to A+4 as well.

Champion : Albert (A+1) – 6000 baht.
Runner-Up : Wulf (A+11) – 3500 baht.
Semi-finals : Abdulah (A+3) and Pen (A+1) – 2000 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Renè Heiniger (A+7), Håkan Ekberg (A+7), Mitsuhiro Mori (A+6) and Russell Masciotti (A+6) – 750 baht each.

The Player Auction Prize Pot totalled a massive 42900 baht and was won by Billy Hayes from England.

He bought Albert for the cheapest price of 600 baht out of a total of 38 players, and bagged the 1st Payout of 12000.

1st (28%) : Billy (Albert) – 12000 baht.
2nd (22%) : Scott (Wulf) – 9300 baht.
Equal 3rd (13%) : Peter Nielsen (Abdulah) and Jeff Schmitt (Pen) – 5600 baht each.
Equal 5th (6%) : Benedikt Walthard (Rene), Mike Berezovsky (Hakan), Peter (Hiro), and David Chalmers (Russell) – 2600 baht each.
