Sun 08-04 : Ronny Wins


Norway’s Ronny Jakobsen won our Sunday 9 Ball Competition this week.

After reaching the semi-finals of Thursday’s tournament until tiredness got the better of him, he went all the way this time to lift the trophy and pocket the 1st Prize of 5000 baht.

He lost his very first match of the evening in the group stages, before raising his game to win six matches on the spin and lift the trophy.

In the final he beat Aom Nantaporn Chomthaisong from Thailand by 6 racks to 1 (race 6-4) and his handicap now moves up to A+6 as a result.

Aom played well to reach the final and took home 3000 baht in 2nd Place.

Ronny’s fellow countryman Tom Fossum reached the semi-finals, along with Aussie Adam Lux, and they each collected 1500 baht.

Champion : Ronny (A+5) – 5000 baht.
Runner-Up : Aom (A+3) – 3000 baht.
Semi-finals : Tom (A+10) and Adam (A+2) – 1500 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Håkan Ekberg (A+7), George Merrington (A+6), Samir Maftri (A+2), and Markus Nolberczak (A+) – 500 baht each.

The Player Auction Prize Fund totalled 28800 baht, and was won by Paul Butcher.

He paid 1300 baht for Ronny, and bagged the 1st Payout of 8600.

1st (30%) : Paul (Ronny) – 8600 baht.
2nd (22%) : George Merrington (Aom) – 6200 baht.
Equal 3rd (12%) : Olly Downey (Tom and Adam) – 3400 baht twice.
Equal 5th (6%) : Dominic (Hakan), Albert (George), Gary (Samir), and Charlie (Markus) – 1800 baht.
