Sun 07-01 : Samir Wins

Congratulations go to Samir Maftri from Sweden for winning our Sunday 9 Ball Competition this week.

From yet another massive entry of 44 players from 16 different countries, he was on top form all night long, going undefeated whilst winning six consecutive matches to lift the trophy and receive the 1st Prize of 7000 baht.

In the final he beat England’s Brooksey Brooks, 4-6 in racks (race 4-10), and his handicap now moves up to A+2 for the very first time as a result.

Brooksey played well to reach the final before finding the handicap too tough against Samir, and collected 4000 baht as Runner-Up.

Stig Berntsen from Norway and Aom Nantaporn Chomthaisong from Thailand both reached the semi-finals, taking home 2000 baht each.

Champion : Samir (A+1) – 7000 baht.
Runner-Up : Brooksey (A+7) – 4000 baht.
Semi-finals : Stig (A+3) and Aom (A+3) – 2000 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Jimmy Mole (A+7), Paul Bushnell (A+7), Mike Berezovsky (A+7), and Thomas Pettersson (A+3) – 1000 baht each.

It was no surprise to see the Player Auction Prize Pool record being broken again with such a high entry.

This time the pot totalled 54200 baht, and was dominated by our Runner-Up Brooksey Brooks.

He bought both Samir (800 baht) and himself (1500), and pocketed a combined total of 27400 for 1st and 2nd!!

1st (28%) : Brooksey (Samir) – 15400 baht.
2nd (22%) : Brooksey (Himself) – 12000 baht.
Equal 3rd (13%) : Janine Albrecht (Stig) and Olly Downey (Aom) – 7000 baht each.
Equal 5th (6%) : Jimmy Mole (Himself), Gary Vinson (Paul), Heikki Nikunen (Mike B), and Adam Lux (Thomas) – 3200 baht each.
