SUNDAY 9 BALL – 2nd SEPTEMBER : ZOLI WINS.
Last night’s 9 Ball Competition saw a second successive victory for The USA, with Zoli Pocza from Texas going all the way to the 1st Prize of 5500 baht.
From another good entry of 27 players from 15 different countries, he beat Pattaya based Filipino player Rey Fonseca in the final, 3-3 in racks (race 3-7) to lift the trophy.
He played very well to go undefeated all night through five separate matches, with none of his opponents even reaching the hill, and ended up a worthy winner.
Rey finally found his feet in a tournament here at the fourth attempt, after struggling to come to terms with the handicap in his previous visits.
He played consistently well all evening to reach the final, before finding our winner too strong, and took home 3000 baht as Runner-Up.
The other money winners on the evening were the two Tommy’s, Rooney from Scotland and Fineman from Israel, who each pocketed 1500 baht as losing semi-finalists.
