Sun 01-04 : Tom Wins

A quality performance from Norway’s Tom Fossum saw him win last night’s 9 Ball Competition.

He was undefeated all night long, winning six consecutive matches to lift the trophy.

Apart from his Quarter-final match up with our Filipino professional Roland Garcia (race 4-8), which he won in the deciding rack, no other player managed to win more than two racks against him at any stage during the tournament.

In the final he played exceptionally well to beat Germany’s Markus Nolberczak without conceding a rack (race 10-3), to collect the 1st Prize of 6000 baht.

Markus continued his recent improvement to play above his handicap mark and reach his third final in the space of 10 days, but once again had to settle for 2nd Place and 3000 baht.

Scotland’s Spencer Henderson and Tukta Juppejup from Thailand both reached the semi-finals, taking home 1500 baht each.

Champion : Tom (A+10) – 6000 baht.
Runner-Up : Markus (A+) – 3000 baht.
Semi-finals : Spencer (A+8) and Tukta (A+2) – 1500 baht each.
Quarter-finals : Roland (Pro+), Gary Vinson (A+9), Nutjarin Nut Sutti (A+3), and Dan Björling (A+1) – 500 baht each.

The Player Auction Prize Pot was massive again, totalling 43600 baht, and was won by Dominique Zagouri.

He paid 2000 to get Tom, and bagged the 1st Payout of 12400.

1st (28%) : Dominique (Tom 2000) – 12400 baht.
2nd (22%) : Mike B (Markus 1500) – 9600 baht.
Equal 3rd (13%) : Spencer (Himself 1500) and Markus (Tukta 1400) – 5600 baht each.
Equal 5th (6%) : Zoli (Roland 3400), Spencer (Gary 1200 and Nut 2100), and Joel Wenger (Dan 800) – 2600 baht each.
