9 Ball High Roller Report

So another of our 9 Ball High Roller events has been and gone, and is now added to the record books.

And yet again it was a huge event, with 49 players taking part, and the Player Auction Prize Pot reaching 200k baht.

Congratulations go to Bangkok based American, Rick Giggity for winning, and pocketing the 1st Prize of 26000 baht.

Rick, who is a regular visitor to our High Rollers, and who finished 4th in our last event in April, went all the way to the winners enclosure this time.

He played consistently well all weekend to win eight matches out of nine, and ended up a very worthy winner.

He did lose one of his matches in the Double Chance groups on Day 1, against our eventual Runner-Up Vicky Waqas from Pakistan, but once he had qualified for the Main Event on Day 2, there was no stopping him.

He won six straight matches, and was taken to the deciding rack only once, winning all his other games comfortably.

In the final, he defeated Vicky by 4 racks to 1 (race 4-6), sealing victory with an audacious 1-9 combo.

Vicky, playing here for the first time since December 2016, showed an improved level of form to reach the final, only losing out to our champion (twice) on the second day, and claimed the Runners-Up prize of 16000 baht.

Thai National 9 Ball Champion Pipe Tanut Makkamontree played some high quality pool over the two days to finish in 3rd place, collecting 11000 baht for his efforts.

He was closely followed in 4th place by England’s Ben Bradley, who made the trip from Phuket worthwhile, playing consistently well to receive 8000 baht.

The Player Auction was never going to compare to our last High Roller in April, but still created a fantastic Prize Pot of 206k baht.
